I am a Photojournalist and Visual Storyteller with more than 18 years of experience in visual journalism. My work has focused on documenting news, people, public life and social change across Kashmir and different parts of India.
I began my career in Photojournalism in 2008 and have covered a wide range of assignments, including major news events, politics, security situations, development, sports and human-interest stories. My photographs and visual stories have been published by leading national and international media organisations. My work has also received international recognition and been featured in academic and cultural exhibitions.
For nearly a decade, I worked as a staff Photojournalist with the Hindustan Times in New Delhi, gaining extensive experience in news photography and working in fast-paced newsroom environments.
I also spent nearly three years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, working in media production, where I expanded my experience in visual content creation, videography and multimedia production.
I am currently based in Srinagar and work as a Senior Photo Correspondent with Press Trust of India (PTI), India’s premier multimedia news agency with a nationwide network of journalists and Photojournalists. At PTI, I cover news and current affairs across Jammu and Kashmir, producing photographs and visual stories for one of India’s most widely used news networks.
My work is guided by accuracy, fairness, speed and strong visual journalism, with a focus on documenting events and people as they unfold on the ground.
