A massive earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale hit Nepal on April 25, 2015. Over 8,000 people died in the earthquake that decimated the small country and left thousands devastated. Just as the impoverished country was trying to rebuild itself from the catastrophic effects of the first quake, a second one, of 7.4 magnitude, struck on May 12 in the Dolakha region of Mt. Everest and culminated in more deaths and severe injuries to people. Families were torn apart, lives severed and changed forever as the continuous shocks created a sense of constant fear and trauma among the people.
